Sunday Treats #1
Chocolate Chip Cookies
I love desserts. It's as simple as that. I love eating and also preparing them. But when I'm in the middle of reading an exciting book I'd rather not spend too much time in the kitchen cooking away when I could be reading my book. This recipe is one of my favourite recipes, which I like to call quick treats as their preparation only takes about half an hour. So when this morning I was in the kitchen and yearned for something sweet to nibble on while reading I chose this simple yet delicious cookie recipe to bake. I especially timed how long it took me to make them: 24 minutes between deciding on making the recipe and when I took the first batch out of the oven. So don't worry this won't take away too much of your precious reading time, and you'll have something delicious to munch on while reading.
I have tried several recipes, but this one is the fastest one and the cookies are simply delicious, so short, yummy... So without further ado here is the recipe of the All-American yet internationally beloved Chocolate Chip Cookies:
Ingredients: (will make a batch of about 20 cookies)
100 gr flour
50 gr brown sugar
50 gr melted butter
50 gr chocolate chips
50 gr peanut butter
1 egg yolk
1/2 a coffee spoon of baking soda
1. Pre-heat the oven to 180 Celsius, and put baking paper on a baking tin.
2. Mix together in a bowl the flour, the sugar and the baking soda. Then add the egg, the peanut butter, the melted butter and lastly the chocolate chips.
3. After you have well mixed everything, knead the paste and form little dumplings (the size of a walnut) and put them on the baking paper, but leave approx. 5 cm between them so they won't stick together. With your palm flatten them to small discs, but not too flat, you want them crunchy not too dry.
4. Place in the oven, bake for about 15 mins. Only take them off the tin once they have cooled.
Best with milk or hot cocoa or a frosty cafe latte.
I hope you'll like it, and please tell me how the baking went, or if you use another recipe to make chocolate chip cookies. I'm always glad to try out new recipes :-)
