Events: A lot has been taking place in May, get comfortable, it will take a while.
Cynthia Roberts events:
I hosted my first author promotion/interview with the lovely Cynthia Roberts, historical romance debut author, whose first novel, Wind Warrior is coming out on June 15.
You can check out Cynthia's guest blog post, the interview with her and read an excerpt of Wind Warrior.
I also had my first interview with Reagan from Star Shadow! You can read about it here.
Book Blogging Buddies:
Star Shadow had a fantastic initiative: to connect fellow bloggers and help them develop a stronger, more special bond, by becoming Book Blogging Buddies. You can read about the program here.
My BBB (=Book Blogging Buddy) became Melissa from Spellbound by Books. I will soon have a more detailed introduction of Melissa and her blog, so you can all (those who are not already her followers) get to know her a bit better.
BEA and Blogger Convention were both held in May and those of us who were unable to attend were sadly moping around until a few creative ladies had the amazing idea to organize a virtual BEA and thus the Armchair BEA was born!
The programs were plenty and varied, there were blogger interviews, lot of interesting posts and discussions and of course exciting giveaways! You can read my post To post or not to post, that is the question... which I wrote about the issue of bloggers writing negative reviews, and whether they should post them or not. It generated quite an intense discussion, it was great reading all your comments, keep them coming, I always love to see what you think!
May also saw the launch of our virtual book club, Book Bloggers Anonymous, fantastic idea and creation of Steph from Paper Cut Reviews. The BBA officially started with the first book club discussion on June 1 with Adrian Phoenix's A Rush of Wings, and the hosts of the first event are Stephanie and Athenna from Paranormal Haven.
You can join us anytime at the BBA Goodreads group.
I also introduced Let's Swap at Ex Libris, where we can exchange books we either have in duplicate or wouldn't want to keep after having read it. If you'd like to exchange some books, please drop me an e-mail.
I went on a short family trip to Madrid, where we had a great time! I shared a few photos of the trip as well as photographic proof of a small restaurant in downtine Madrid called Ex Libris, upon which we stumbled by chance! :-)
For those of you who would like to get to know a bit more about me, you can read My Reading Habits, a fun questionnaire which made the round in the blogosphere.
This month was full of giveaways, first there was the giveaway of Wind Warrior in the 3 day Cynthia Roberts event. I had my first interview by Reagan from Star Shadow with another giveaway and to celebrate Armchair BEA and Ex Libris having 222 followers I hosted the 222 Followers Giveaway, which is still going on, is open internationally and will end on June 15.
Spellbound by Books (even before we became BBBs).
Received this one from Florie at Sweet Happy Endings.
Ok, I think I haven't forgotten anything, as you could see though it was a month seriously lacking in reviews, there were quite a lot going on. And as you will see June will be just as busy, with a few special events I'm planning, so keep your eyes open you won't want to miss them! ;-)
