It's Monday, What are you reading? (#9)

It's Monday, What are you reading this week? is a weekly event hosted by Sheila at One Person's Journey Through a World of Books to list the books completed last week, the books currently being read and the books to be finished this week.

The last week has been fantastic for me, in terms of reading and books I have devoured. It might have helped that on Tuesday we had a major server outage and couldn't log into our computers at work at all, so I could legitimely spend almost all day (until 3 pm) reading :-D (I was so grateful I had a book in my bag, as many colleagues kept blaming themselves that there was nothing to do/read: no magazines, just some boring financial newsletter). I could do with such server/power outage once every week ;-p lol

Books I completed this week

I finished reading these four books:

- Cry Wolf by Patricia Briggs: The next story after the introductory novella in On the Prowl. Patricia Briggs' writing is fantastic, highly enjoyable, the characters were the clear highlight of this book.

- Happy Hour At Casa Dracula by Marta Acosta: This is the first book in Marta Acosta's humourous, laugh-out-loud funny paranormal (romance) series. And what a delightfuil novel! You can't read this in public, unless you are prepared to withstand the inquisitive stare of strangers after you keep letting out loud guffaws of laughter/giggles every 2nd page or so. :-D

- FU by Mia Watts: I won this novella, and previously I haven't read anything by Mia Watts, but after FU, I will definitely check her out.

FU is not simply a very hot erotica (ménage) story as I expected, what surprised me was the heart-touching sweet romance woven in and the philosophical poetry (imparted through one of the characters).

- Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead: This book has been sitting on my shelf for a couple of months, I sometimes took it out to stare at the gorgeous cover, then put it back, waiting for the occasion when I could finally start reading it. And well this weekend I felt like reading it! And I loved it! It is very addictive, can't wait to read Frostbite (book #2)!

Book I am currently reading

I just started Swallow by Tonya Plank this morning.

Book I can't wait to start soon

- Frostbite by Richelle Mead: As soon as I gobbled up the 1st book, I knew I couldn't wait to continue the series and learn what will happen with Rose and Dimitri :-p

And what are you reading this week?
