It's Monday, What Are You Reading? (#21)

It's Monday, What are you reading this week? is a weekly event hosted by Sheila at One Person's Journey Through a World of Books to list the books completed last week, the books currently being read and the books to be finished this week.

My cousin's second baby was born last night! Or this morning to be exact, a bit past 2am. My little goddaughter has a little sister :-) She was named Abigail Rose and though she arrived a bit early (she should have been a Christmas baby), both mom and baby are well :-) Besides sharing the happy news with you I also wanted to tell you that I'm not sure how present I can be on the blog since I will have to help out and keep my little goddaughter entertained and out of mischief ;-) I have some events planned for this week and I'll try to go on as planned, but please bear with me, I think the next 1-2 weeks might be a bit different than usual. :-)

Books I completed this week

How to Wed a Baron

To be truthful I didn't complete this one, it was a DNF (= did not finish). I got about 15% in, but couldn't go on, I didn't feel for the heroine immediately, and I outright disliked the hero, he felt forced and his unnatural nonchalance and humour was irritating me. So I thought there are so many other great historical rmances, I will not waste my time with this one. It simply was not for me.

His Christmas Pleasure (Avon)

This one was a nice and quick read. The heroien is absolutely charming: she is a headstrong but warmhearted spirited red-head and I loved what an equal and amicable relationship se had with the hero. A nice read for a quiet afternoon.

Overheard (Unbroken, book 2)

This was an extra fast read, and a very hot one, besides the end it was quite good. A lot of characters were introduced but the reader still got to know them a bit. Would recommend it for a quick night read, will induce nice dreams ;-p

Pleasures of a Notorious Gentleman (Avon)

This was Book #2 in the series (Book #1 was Passions of a Wicked Earl), and I forgot how good Lorraine Heath is! I have quite some things to say about this one, so be on the lookout for my review, which will be posted soon, until then I recommend you to read it, a wonderful, heartwarming historical romance!

Books I am currently reading

The Christmas Cookie Club: A Novel

Just Like That: The Bradfords, Book 2

Books I can't wait to start soon

Last Sacrifice (Vampire Academy, Book 6)
Last Sacrifice by Richelle Mead
(Book #6 in the Vampire Academy series)

And more historical romances! It seems the colder the weather gets, the more romance novels I crave :-)

And what are you reading this week?
