August Flashback

I'm being a very good blogger and trying to keep up with everything, among other not slacking on doing my monthly flashback post, so here I am to tell you what I have read, reviewed and enjoyed in August. (And can't believe that summer is over!! It flew by in a wink! *grumbles*)

As I was away for a week on vacation at the beach, where all I did was read and relax, it's a good thing I got a good headstart, because once I got back work was so busy I wasn't able to read as much as I would have liked :-/

Books read:
  1. Wicked Rake, Defiant Mistress by Ann Lethbridge
  2. Never Tempt Danger by Denise Robbins
  3. Altar of Bones by Philip Carter
  4. The Perfect Play by Jaci Burton
  5. Rogue by Rachel Vincent (Book #2 in the Shifters series) *
  6. Pride by Rachel Vincent (Book #3 in the Shifters series) *
  7. The "What If" Guy by Brooke Moss
  8. Dragon Bound by Thea Harrison
  9. Red by Kait Nolan
  10. Chasing Tabby by Misty Burke
  11. Sweet as Sin by Inez Kelley
  12. IOU Sex by Calista Fox
  13. Wild & Steamy anthology by Meljean Brook, Jill Myles and Carolyn Crane

Books reviewed:
  1. Seduction & Scandal by Charlotte Featherstone
  2. This Perfect Kiss by Melody Thomas
  3. Only Mine by Susan Mallery
  4. Siren Song by Stephanie Draven
  5. The "What If" Guy by Brooke Moss
  6. Never Tempt Danger by Denise Robbins

Books I liked the best this month:

Once again three books stand out from this month's reads:
Rogue and Pride by Rachel Vincent

I was on a roll and gobbled up the first 3 books in the Shifters series within a week. Since then I'm on a  forced break but cannot wait to read more. Thanks to Rachel Vincent's extraordinary storytelling the reader is invested in the characters' fate to such extent, that I read the whole book with baited breath! Brilliant!

Kait Nolan's new full length novel is spellbinding. The story flows naturally and the characters are interesting. I'll tell you about it in more detail next week and Kait will also stop by with a  guest stop on September 12, so mark your calendars.

Book I liked the least this month:

   Chasing Tabby (Katt Tales)

This was a really short story (21 pages) and too much was crammed into it, and due to that it read like a whilrwind inventory list.

August was the month of read-a-thons:

First there was Once Upon a Chapter's Sizzling Summer Read-a-thon:

Then there was the Bout of Books Read-a-thon organized by On a Book Bender.

Ok, I think that's the gist of what happened at Ex Libris in August. :-)
