It's Monday, What Are you Reading? (#53)

It's Monday, What are you reading? is a weekly event hosted by Sheila at One Person's Journey Through a World of Books to list the books completed last week, the books currently being read and the books to be finished this week.

Another week is over and I need to concentrate more on studying and less on blogging :-( I keep telling myself it's only for 2 more weeks and I can get over it easily, but this reading & blogging addiction seems to be quite strong ;-) I tried to read shorter and lighter books to tune out of studying at night, but as you can see some of these weren't such light reads. Anyway, here is what I have read the past week:

Books I completed

Romancing the Countess by Ashley March

A quite unusual initial setting for a historical romance: the hero and heroine discover their deceased spouses were having an affair and to make the gosspimongers stop gossiping about them they decide to give them material for gossip with each other...

My review will be posted on October 27 when Ashley will stop by to tell you about some of the behind the scenes secret of writing Romancing the Countess and you'll also have the chance to win a copy of the book!

Book #3 in Lucianne Rivers' Caldwell Sisters trilogy. I loved Book #1 Hold Me and Book #2 Thrill Me, and the cover of ENTICE ME is my favourite of the bunch! My review was posted here.

Another book I read in my personal dare to give a chance to those stereotypical, horrible titled novels and see whether they are really as cheap and cheesy as their title would suggest. I am happy to report that Romancing the M.D. was a well written and great read, would recommend it!

Not an easy read, but such a powerful one. It was packed so full of emotion, choked me up several times. An incredibly moving novel, not the steamy and light romance you would expect based on the cover.

A truly exceptional novel, I can't wait to tell you about in more detail. My review will be posted on November 11 at Book Lovers Inc.

Book I am currently reading

I LOVE WWII stories and movies so when I saw the blurb of this one I couldn't resist. Love the old times glamour of swing parties, cocktail dresses they are so glittery against the bleak setting and dangers of the war.

Books I can't wait to start

As you know military romance is a newly discovered love of mine and this anthology sounds interesting with several shorter stories, perfect for a brief read at night to chill out.

As this week is the last before my exam I doubt I'll do any pleasure-reading, but I keep repeating to myself the mantra "you only have to endure it for a few more days, after Oct 27 you'll be able to read as much as you want" and hope it gives me enough strength to resist the temptation.

And what are you reading this week?
