It's Monday, What Are you Reading? (#56)

It's Monday, What are you reading? is a weekly event hosted by Sheila at One Person's Journey Through a World of Books to list the books completed last week, the books currently being read and the books to be finished this week.

Ever since I came back from my study leave and am back at the office things have been crazy busy. I'm still trying to catch up with my overflowing inbox and fit in a bit of blogging time in the busy workdays. But what helps me to smile (despite the frosty weather) is that I already feel Christmas in the air!

I know it is still very early, but as official host and organiser of the Book Lovers Inc's Holiday Reading Challenge I browsed countless holiday themed books and the covers made me so warm and fuzzy (you can find my recommendations for different genres you might be interested in HERE), and I already started reading a couple of Christmas stories. And wow are they great! Like still warm cinnamon buns: they are sweet, smell wonderful and leave you with a smile :-) So join me in getting in the holiday spirit early and enjoy the Christmas preparations before things get crazy and stressful ;-) You can read about the details and join the Chalelnge here.

So here is what I have read this past week:

Books I completed

Book #8 in the World of the Lupi phenomenal UF series. I have only read the prequel novella and the first novel but still enjoyed Death MAgic a lot! The UF universe created by Eileen Wilks is stunning: rich and complex, I can't wait to return and read the rest of the series! My review will be posted very soon along with an interview with Eileen Wilks!

I have had my eye on this novel when I saw the praising reviews around its release. Well when I saw it bundled together with Book #2 on NetGalley in a Christmas edition I jumped on the occasion and finally read it. And loved it! Jill Shalvis' characters, setting and story are all wonderfully heartwarming, can't wait to share my review with you and read the following novels. (read for the Book Lovers Inc's Holiday Reading Challenge.)

I read and loved Lori Wilde's First Love Cookie Club (and instantly added Lori to my autobuy authors' list), so when I heard there are some Christmas novellas set in this series of her I couldn't wait to gobble them up. Carrie's story is the first one (there will be 2 more), and it was sweet and sexy, perfect for the holidays. My review will be posted soon. (read for the Book Lovers Inc's Holiday Reading Challenge.)

Birgit is a fellow blogger and friend of mine, so when she asked me to read and review her book I was a bit worried, not knowing if it would be something I will enjoy, but I can tell you now that I have gobbled up The Attic in my Yard that it is for everyone! It is a wonderful, upbeat and inspiring book which left me with a  smile. My review will be posted soon and Birgit will also stop by to tell us a bit more about her book.

You might have heard how much I loved Karma Girl the first book in Jennifer Estep's Bigtime series, so I was looking forward to reading a holiday novella in the series, and A Karma Girl Christmas was wonderful! I had a blast reading it. Jennifer Estep will stop by on December 5 and answer some of my most burning questions I had to ask her about the Bigtime series ;-) (read for the Book Lovers Inc's Holiday Reading Challenge.)

Book I am currently reading

This is Book #2 in Jennifer Estep Mythos Academy series. I loved the first novel and couldn't wait to finally dive back in and read about Gwen, Logan and the magical school :-)

Books I can't wait to start

I haven't gotten around to start reading this one, but it is still on top of my wish-I-could-read-this-one-now list.

and of course more holiday themed stories! :-)

ps. and I almost forgot: I completed my Goodreads challenge (to read 150 books in 2011)! Way ahead of time ! Yay me! :-D I still have 1,5 month to go, so we'll see how many more I can read by then, just wanted to share the good news as I'm really proud of having read 150 books this year :-)
And what are you reading this week?
