Let It Snow Books: Interview with Jennifer St.George + Giveaway

I'm always in for a well written, sweet and cute romance so it's only natural that I immediately fell in love with Jennifer St. George's writing style! Her stories are always so well written and filled with such vivid images that they feel like a journey around the world. So, it's not really a surprise that one of her stories is featured once more in our list with the best books we read. Please, welcome Jennifer St. George who's giving us a taste today of what Christmas Holidays feel like in Australia!

Anna: Hello Jennifer and welcome to this year’s Let It Snow Books event!

Jennifer: Thanks so much for including me in the 2013 Let It Snow Books event. Very excited!

Anna: Let’s start this interview with a question that will be my personal treat: What are your plans for future books? I’m always eager for one of your stories!

Jennifer: My new release The Billionaire’s Pursuit of Love will be available in mid-January. It’s set in the exotic country of Brunei (you know how much I love exotic locations!!) and London. I love this book. I cried my eyes out while writing the ‘black moment’ so I hope readers will feel as passionately about my characters as I do.

A quick synopsis:

When Sarah Walker's beloved wildlife sanctuary is threatened with closure, she heads for London and goes straight to the top to find out why. But the man responsible is the one man she's never forgotten, and the only person who can destroy all her happiness.
Billionaire CEO Blake Huntington-Fiennes can't believe that the girl he's spent years searching for has just marched into his boardroom. And this time, he's willing to resort to any means necessary to keep her. But Sarah has a secret she must protect at all costs or risk losing something even more precious than the sanctuary…

Anna: Have you planned anything special to spend this year’s Holidays?

Jennifer: My husband’s family is enormous so we have lots and lots of visitors over the holidays. They love coming to us as we have a house on the beach and as you know, Christmas in Australia is all about sun, surf and sunscreen. So, I’ll be hosting lots of beachside picnics and twilight BBQs. But, we are escaping on our own for a trip down the Great Ocean Road on the gorgeous southern Victoria coast. We’ll be visiting the famous Twelve Apostles, an incredible collection of rugged limestone rock stacks rising out of the Southern Ocean.

Anna: Let It Snow Books is all about the best books we read in 2013. Could you please share with us some of your favorite reads this year?

Jennifer: I always find this question tricky. I loved The Light Between Oceans by M.L. Stedman and Hannah Kent’s debut novel, Burial Rights. I really enjoyed Louise Reynolds’ debut novel, Her Italian Aristocrat. Amy Andrews is one of my favourite category authors and her novel Taming the Tycoon was fantastic. Rachel Bailey’s category books are also favourites.

I can’t wait to read Anna Cowan’s Untamed as it’s been raved about – it’s sitting at the top of my TBR pile. Hmmm, there were lots more. I’ll have to keep thinking.

Anna: What makes you feel that Christmas time is finally here?

Jennifer: When we put up the Christmas tree, it really feels like the silly season has arrived. I love decorating it with new colours every year.

Anna: Christmas/the holidays wouldn't be the real deal without…

Jennifer: Lots and lots of yummy food (and family of course). Although I’m not a great cook, I do love eating. This year my sister-in-law is in charge of the food and she’s a great cook, so Christmas lunch with be a gastronomic delight!!

Anna: Do you prefer an angel or a star on top of your tree?

Jennifer: Definitely an angel.

Anna: Where would you ideally spend your Holidays this year?

Jennifer: As Christmas in Australia is hot and sunny, I’d love to have a white Christmas. Ideally I’d stay in a French châteaux in a beautiful historic, cobbled-stone village blanketed in a foot of fresh snow.

Anna: You’re from Australia, so the typical weather there for Christmas is sunny and with high temperatures. I was wondering if despite that you would crave for some white Christmas (I know I do, although we rarely have them!)

Jennifer: Ha, ha – see above answer!! Even though I’ve grown up in Australia, I still crave a white Christmas. Must be my English heritage.

Anna: What is the best gift Charlotte, your heroine in Seducing the Secret Heiress, has received for the holidays?

Jennifer: Most boyfriends (and husbands) would receive a frosty response if he presented a kitchen item as a Christmas present, but cooking is Charlotte’s passion. Gabe found this beautiful Carrara marble mortal and pestle in a cute specialty shop in Venice during a recent weekend trip. It’s all wrapped up in gold under the tree. There just happens to be a gorgeous diamond and ruby bracelet about the pestle!

Anna: What special dish will Charlotte prepare for Gabe for Christmas?

Jennifer: Charlotte and Gabe will be back in Italy for Christmas. They love going back to the small seaside village where they met. Being a good Australian girl, Charlotte will be preparing a Christmas dinner with an Aussie twist. So it will be fresh prawns to start, traditional roast Turkey with her secret recipe stuffing and roast veggies and another Aussie faviourite to finish, Pavlova with fresh cream and fruit.

Thank you Jennifer for stopping by today and Happy Holidays!
