June Flashback

Hi Everyone!

June swished by so quickly, I can't belive it is already July, somehow I got stuck around the middle of May and feel like summer is just about to start (well maybe the awful November-like weather is to blame for that).

Unfortunately I haven't been able to be too active in the last couple of weeks due to constant problems in real life: first I had exams, then due to the heavy storms there was flooding, then again due to the strong wind no internet for almost a  week, then my laptop crashed and I still haven't gotten it back from the computer shop. grr :-/

But at least now it starts to feel like summer: the sun is shining brightly and it's 30 Celsius, would be nice to go to the beach and not have to work in the city.
Well let's see what happened in June at Ex Libris:

Books read:

  1. Silent Scream by Lynda La Plante
  2. Touched by an Alien by Gini Koch *
  3. Strange Neighbors by Ashlyn Chase
  4. Kept by Zoe Winters
  5. Texas Tangle by Leah Braemel
  6. Farm Fresh Murder by Paige Shelton
  7. Talk Dirty to Me by Inez Kelley
  8. Exclusively Yours by Shannon Stacey

Books reviewed:

1. Stop Me by Richard Jay Parker
2. Silent Scream by Lynda La Plante
3. Touched by an Alien by Gini Koch *

Books I liked the best this month: Touched by an Alien by Gini Koch hands down! I fell in love with that book, it was perfect and brilliantly written! It ended up on my 2010 Top Reads list (hence the star). You can read my very gushing-fan girl squeeking review here.

My other favourite was Farm Fresh Murder by Paige Shelton, a very cute cozy mystery.

Book I liked the least this month: Strange Neighbors by Ashlyn Chase

Reading Challenges 2010 - Status report:

Suspense & Thriller Challenge: 7 read, 5/12 to go

Speculative Fiction Challenge: 13 read 11/24 to go

The Hollows Reading Challenge: 1 read 7/8 to go

We had our first BBA book club discussion! We read and discussed A Rush of Wings by Adrian Phoenix, the 1st book in the Maker's Song series.

I participated in my 1st Bloggiesta, had so much done and loved it! It was really fun, can't wait for next time!

Spotlight on...

June saw the birth of one of my original feature ideas: Spotlight on Thrillers was introduced and was quite a success with two thriller authors visiting Ex Libris, guest posts and discussions about great thrillers and why we love them and of course peppered with quite a few giveaways!

/July will be about Paranormal Romance so keep your eyes open, just saying ;-)/

This month was full of giveaways too, first there was the celebratory giveaway for Ex Libris passing 222 Followers, then there were many smaller giveaways during the Spotlight on Thrillers Week.

I have received quite a lot of awards in June, I haven't had the time to compile all of them into a post yet, but will soon. Thank you to all those of you have given me an award, I'm truly honoured!

Ok, I think that's mainly what took place in June, keep your eyes open because this month's Spotlight on will be even better and bigger than the first one! ;-)
