48 Hour Read-a-Thon Wrap-up

So here I am with a few choices I will bring along for my weekend of reading, we'll see what I will be able to finish:

I finished the 2nd book in Rachel Vincent's Soul Screamers series, it wasn't as good as the 1st one. Or I should rather say I enjoyed it less. The writing was fantastic again, it's just the plot, the main mystery of the novel that I found not that engaging.

Of course I can't wait to read book #3 (My Soul to Keep) and read more about Kaylee and Nash (and Tod)!

I devoured this new Nora Roberts novel and I'm so glad it is the 1st book in a 4 book series and I have several more to read!!

Nora Roberts didn't disappoint, it was a thoroughly enjoyable "warm, cozy blanket story". Enjoyed it very much and can't wait to read the subsequent novels and read about the other girls and their stories ;-)

I have to confess that I started The Accidental Werewolf but after the first 10 or so pages I wasn't engaged enough and felt like I was in the mood for something else, so I picked up Promise by Kristie Cook.. again.. :-)

I first read Promise in July and LOVED it. And now at second reading it is just as much enjoyable and wonderful. I feel like this one will be a book I'll be re-reading quite a few times in the future.

All in all it was a wonderful weekend with a lot of resting, reading and napping in summer sunshine. Maybe I could have read a bit more, though I think that having read about 870 pages in this Read-a-thon is not a bad result :-)

It was my first Read-a-thon and I very much enjoyed it, my only regret is that being away in the country I missed out on the social fun of the Read-a-thon: no Twitter party, no cheering each other :-(  But hopefully I'll participate next time and the next Read-a-thon (hosted by Monica from The Bibliophilic Blog) is just around the corner :-)

Thank you Wallace for organising this 48 hour Read-a-thon, it was a lot of fun! :-)
