July Flashback

Well August is here and that means summer is almost over.. But for the time being it is still sunny and scorchingly hot (37 degrees) here :-)

If I have to think of the things that made July memorable, I would have to say it was the Spotlight on Paranormal Romance events here at Ex Libris and that I bought myself a Kindle!

I'm surprised at how many books I managed to read in July, I was on a roll :-) Sadly not that many reviews were posted but I wasn't being lazy, there was plenty of happening at Ex Libris: tons of giveaways in the Book Extravaganza, Got Books? events then all the author appearances in the Spotlight on Paranormal Romance events among others.

So here are the numbers and the summary of July:

Books read:
  1. Mind Games by Carolyn Crane *
  2. Breakfast in Bed by Sandra Brown
  3. Promise by Kristie Cook
  4. Dangerous Highlander by Donna Grant
  5. Coming Clean by Inez Kelley
  6. Three Over Par by Cathryn Brunet
  7. Colters' Wife by Maya Banks
  8. Ordeal by T.K. Varenko
  9. Shadow of the Vampire by Meagan Hatfield
  10. The White Queen by Philippa Gregory
  11. Second Hand Heart by Catherine Ryan Hyde

  13. My Soul to Take by Rachel Vincent
  14. My Soul to Save by Rachel Vincent

(* 2010 Top Reads)

Books I liked the best this month: This month my top 3 reads were:

Mind Games by Carolyn Crane (AMAZING!),
Promise by Kristie Cook (already re-read it for the 2nd time in 3 weeks) and
My Soul to Take by Rachel Vincent (discovered another fantastic new author I can't wait to read more from).

Book I liked the least this month: Liked all books read in July, but if I had to choose: Colters' Wife by Maya Banks

Spotlight on...

July was Spotlight on Paranormal Romance at Ex Libris! With a lot of author interviews, guest posts and tons of giveaways it was a great success, thanks to everyone who took part, August will be Spotlight on Urban Fantasy, see you there! :-)

Book Bloggers Anonymous:

In July the BBA discussed Mind Games by Carolyn Crane, the 1st book in the Disillusionists series. Wow! Read.This. Trust me!

I participated in my very first Read-a-Thon! It was a 48 hour long Read-a-thon and I did pretty well with about 870 pages read. It was a lot of fun and I'm definitely planning on takinbg part next time too!

This month was full of giveaways, besides the many many Paranormal Romance giveaways I participated in two  blogosphere giveaways: the Book Extravaganza (July 16-18) and the Got Books? event (July 23-24).

I have received quite a few awards in July, I will have to think about who to pass it on to, but until then thank you to all those of you have given me an award, I really appreciate them!!

So basically this is what happened at Ex Libris in a nutshell :-)

Keep your eyes open because August will be Spotlight on Urban Fantasy! *winks*
