It's Monday, What are you reading? (#8)

It's Monday, What are you reading this week? is a weekly event hosted by Sheila at One Person's Journey Through a World of Books to list the books completed last week, the books currently being read and the books to be finished this week.

It has been months since I last did this post. I first left off I's Monday, What are you reading? because I was just reading 1 book per week and that seemed not enough to talk about in this post, then when I got to read about 3-4 books a week, I got busy, but here I am, hopefully will be able to do both from now on :-)

Books I completed this week

I finished reading these two novels:

- Beautiful Malice by Rebecca James: Wow! This book is seriously amazing! The emotional rollercoaster Rebecca James takes the reader on is indescribable. A one of a kind, extraordinary read!

- On the Prowl by Patricia Briggs: This is an anthology, and so far I have only read the short story written by Patricia Briggs, the introduction to the Alpha and Omega series. It was my first story from Patricia Briggs. It was good, though not a light read, the subject is heavy and dark (abuse, rape). But Patricia Briggs laid down the foundations for

Books I am currently reading

I'm reading Cry Wolf (Book #1 in the Alpha and Omega series) by Patricia Briggs, devoured this one! I'm already at 200 pages of the 300 and I started it this morning (and have been at work since!); and Happy Hour at Casa Dracula by Marta Acosta. What a funny and original novel! :-)

Books I can't wait to start soon

- Double Cross by Carolyn Crane: I LOVED Mind Games and I'm counting the days to the release of Double Cross!! September 28 cannot come soon enough!

But then there is also

- Sparks by Laura Bickle: Another sequel to another favourite read of 2010 (Embers). I fell in love with Anya, Sparky and Laura Bickle's evocative storytelling, can't wait to read book #2! :-D

And what are you reading this week?
