It's Monday, What Are you Reading? (#40)

It's Monday, What are you reading this week? is a weekly event hosted by Sheila at One Person's Journey Through a World of Books to list the books completed last week, the books currently being read and the books to be finished this week.

Somehow this week was slow and felt kind of boring, then things sped up a bit during the weekend, but I'm still feeling rather "meh". I think I seriously need to read a book which will blow me away! :-) Any suggestions?

Here is what I have read last week:

Books I completed this week

Whisper Falls: A Destiny Novel
Whisper Falls by Toni Blake

Third book in Toni Blake's Destiny contemporary romance series, and the second I read. Me personally I much preferred the previous book Sugar Creek, which I loved, Whisper Falls just fell a bit short for me, didn't feel the same spark and witty humour I saw in Sugar Creek, but still, can't wait to read more novels by Toni Blake.

The Bartered Virgin

A NetGalley review book. The premise sounded interesting and funny, unfortunately I had quite a lot of issues with this novel.

Last Call 1: Kamikaze
Wow, it's not often that I have come across a short story which I found as satisfying from character, relationship development as well as from plot point of view as Kamikaze. A quick read I enjoyed a lot, perfect to gobble up in a rainy afternoon! :-)

Books I am currently reading

Those Who Fight Monsters: Tales of Occult Detectives

An anthology of 14 UF short stories.

Rising, Freestyle: Xtreme Adventures, Book 2

Second in Vivian Arend's X-treme Adventures series, and so far it is wonderful, I'm enjoying it a lot and trying to pace myself and not just devour it in one sitting. :-) Great, sympathetic yet interesting, threedimensional characters and I would say besides the very hot smexy scenes the highlight is rather on the emotional side of the story. Just wonderful.

Books I can't wait to start soon

Last Sacrifice: A Vampire Academy Novel
Last Sacrifice by Richelle Mead
I know, I know, I can't believe it either that I still haven't gotten around to read the final novel in the Vampire Academy series. EVery time I remember I still ahve to read it, I have serious cravings but as I'm always reading some review books at that moment Last Sacrifice takes a backseat and then other books pop up. The saying "so many books, so little time" is SO true! *sighs* But I'll get to it, hopefully sooner rather than later...

And what are you reading this week?
