It's Monday, What Are you Reading? (#41)

It's Monday, What are you reading this week? is a weekly event hosted by Sheila at One Person's Journey Through a World of Books to list the books completed last week, the books currently being read and the books to be finished this week.

I can't believe how much reading I have done the past week. Thanks to 3 day long weekends, why can't we have them more often? It is so good to finally have enough time to relax and just enjoy the weekend without feeling like it's about to end. Anyway had a wonderful weekend: the sun was shining I spent Saturday with my 2 year old little niece at the playground, had such a fun time, then picked a lot of cherries at my grandma's. We have been eating cherry for breakfast, dessert after lunch and all through the afternoon for 2 days and we still have quite a lot! And then of course I spent all the remaining hours reading. Either out in the garden soaking up the sun or lounging in the shade, I devoured books. *sighs* It was quite easily the weekend of my dreams :-D lol

Here is what I have read last week:

Books I completed this week

Learning Curves

Learning Curves by Elyse Mady

Wow. This book definitely pulled me out of my recent "meh" reading zone. It was fantastic: steamy yet emotional, and definitely had some deeper meaning. Great writing, good plot and wonderful characters and story! I was blown away, stayed up until 2:30 am to finish reading it, it was that good! If you like steamy romance, you should check this one out, you'll love it!

A NetGalley review book. An enjoyable sensual historical novella. I was quite satisfied with what it delivered, especially considering this was a short story. I enjoyed the writing and will check out the author's future works.

Those Who Fight Monsters: Tales of Occult Detectives

This is quite a compact anthology full of stories about different occult detectives: some are old cops, PIs, then there is the occasional soccer mom :-D I think those who are fans of the original series will love this and those who haven't read those series first will add quite a few UF authors and series to ther must-check out list ;-)

Bachelor Unleashed (Kimani Romance)
Bachelor Unleashed by Brenda Jackson

I thought this would be a steamy romance novel, but it was more of a romantic erotica. The romance aspect and storyline of the novel took a definite back seat and I was left a bit disappointed. I expected more of this book.

Spiderwork - A Postapocapunk Romance (Apocalypto 2)
Spiderwork by L.K. Rigel

Spiderwork is Book #2 in L.K. Rigel's Apocalypto sci-fi romance series. It was a great sequel to Space Junque, L.K. Rigel wove her epic sci-fi story with its complex universe and rules masterfully. Review will be posted during the week.

Books I am currently reading

I love fairy tales, especially if they are retold in a unique and witty way!

Between by Cyndi Tefft

The story of a Scottish Highlander who has been transporting souls to Heaven and a 19 year old American girl who just died. Reminds me of Outlander by Diana Gabaldon, it's a lot like its YA version. :-)

Books I can't wait to start soon

I feel like reading some gritty and action packed UF stories now and these have caught my eyes:

Quarter Square
Quarter Square by David Bridger

Goddess With a Blade
Goddess with a Blade by Lauren Dane

And what are you reading this week?
