Character interview with Tim and Skye from The Officer Says "I Do" by Jeanette Murray

I can't resist military heroes and I just love Vegas romances (= where the couple meet and get together in Vegas usually under the influence of being drunk and have to deal with what they did the night before), so I knew I had to read The Officer Says "I Do" by Jeanette Murray, but I had no idea I would enjoy it so much! So it is my great pleasure to welcome Jeanette Murray and Tim and Skye, the hero and heroine of today at Ex Libris, please give them a warm welcome and pick up this book, I'm sure you'll have fun! :-D

Jeanette: Often, on my blog, I do a Military Moments segment where I interview a real military couple about their life and love. Today I’m interviewing a couple very near and dear to my hearts…Captain Tim O’Shay and his wife, Skye McDermott. Yup, the lead characters from my book The Officer Says “I Do!”

So guys, thanks for taking time out of newlywed bliss to hang out and do this interview. I probably should have contacted you guys sooner, but I’m so busy right now with moving I let it lapse!

Tim: Notice is always nice…

Skye: *elbows Tim* We’re glad to be here, and good luck with your move.

Jeanette: Thanks, we’re in the house now but everything is still in boxes! Crazy. But you guys know all about crazy. I mean, look at how you two met. Talk about nuts!

Tim: I’d use the word “unconventional” more than crazy.

Skye: No, crazy works. But the good kind of crazy, like when you know things are completely out of control but you like it and you can’t wait to see what’s coming next. Like a roller coaster rising up over the hill. You can’t make the coaster stop, you can’t jump off, but you wouldn’t stop it even if you could because you’re dying to know what’s over the crest.

Tim: Or, you could just say…alcohol makes strange bedfellows.

Skye: You could, but that’s not nearly as fun!

Jeanette: I agree there. Plus, let’s be honest…alcohol can only take you so far. Opposites to begin with, but you guys melded together pretty well after some initial bumps. What were some of those roadblocks?

Tim: *glances around* I could find four or five roadblocks right now. Like that pile of socks Skye forgot to fold and just left in the chair. The amount of tofu in the fridge. The—
Skye: Okay, okay. How about that stick you carry around with you all the time? You know, the one stuck up your—

Jeanette: Ah, love. True love. How about some changes you’ve made to accommodate the love of your life?

Tim: *glances around* That pile of socks, the amount of tofu in the fridge…

Skye: *pokes him in the side* Seriously.

Tim: Seriously, I don’t feel like I made much at all. I just let her in, and what followed to make us work was what happened. I don’t think I had to accommodate her. She’s my wife, and I love her.

Skye: Aw, you’re going to make me cry in a minute. Stop that. I think for me, it was remembering I’m not single anymore, and sometimes people like marching to the beat of the same drum. Not everyone wants their own drummer. So when I remember, I pick up my socks. But hey, it’s been a rough week at work!

Tim: I know, babe. *kisses her forehead*

Jeanette: Stop before you get to the real mush. We have an interview here! The kids are watching!

Skye: Kids?

Jeanette: Sorry, Soup reference. Speaking of kids though…any thoughts to procreating and making little Skye-lets or Tim-lets?

Tim: Hell, yeah.
Skye: Oh, no! Wait, what? Kids, now? Tim.
Tim: Why wouldn’t I want to have kids with you? You’d be an amazing mom.
Skye: Okay, stop. I’m back to that crying thing now…

Jeanette: *shuffles notes* Right, well, then we’ll wrap it up before Skye cries. Tears make me uncomfortable. Last question…any plans to head back to Vegas anytime soon?

Tim: No way.

Skye: Hell, yeah!

Jeanette: I thought so. Thanks guys for hanging out. I’ll leave you and that pile of socks and tears and catch up with you when Madison and Jeremy hit bookshelves in The Officer Breaks The Rules.

Tim: Wait, huh? Madison and Jeremy what?

Jeanette: Nothing… (Psst…if you like Tim and Skye, you’ll love Madison and Jeremy.)

Tim: We’re still here…

Jeanette: And that’s my exit. Thanks for playing!
